Our Mission

We are committed to providing quality instruction with professional teachers in a welcoming and positive learning atmosphere.

Our mission is to nurture the artist inside. We strive to provide comprehensive dance education to every student across all genres of dance. We want each student to enjoy learning and expressing themselves. We hope to instill in each dancer a desire to have a positive work ethic on and off of the dance floor and within the community. We strongly believe that dance should be accessible to all children and will strive to provide scholarships and tuition assistance as available.

Meet the Owner, Barbara English

I am originally from Liverpool, England, where I trained with my Aunt, Mary Leonard. After passing all the Royal  Academy of Dancing graded ballet examinations and Ballet in Education levels, I continued training at the Liverpool Theatre School. I gained membership of the International Dance Teachers Association (2nd class honors degree in ballet education).

After moving to South Carolina in 1989, I taught at the YWCA for more than 10 years, bringing in examiners from the UK to test the students. As well as teaching at various local studios I continued my dance education with David Howard (University of Illinois). I  and my staff have prepared many students for entrance to the South Carolina Governors School for the Arts and Humanities, University dance programs, and professional dance careers.

As well as teaching I design and construct many of our costumes that are also used by other companies.

I am honored that many of my former students have chosen to bring their children to train with me. 2022 is my fortieth year of teaching and  the legacy of dance continues.
